Terms and conditions for online group lessons
Fees:
Registration fee: Those who are studying for the first time at Coto Japanese Academy will be charged a ¥10,000 registration fee. The registration fee covers expenses required for enrollment procedures, and level assessment. The registration fee is not refundable in case of early termination.
Tuition: Payment is required in advance. All lessons are non-transferable and may only be taken by the person whose name is indicated in the contract.
Others: fees for textbooks and/or other materials may apply.
Method of Payment:
We only accept credit card. The payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the 1st of each month.
Minimum contract period:
Students must continue this plan for at least 3 months. This applies to every time when you start the
contract. (Even if you have enrolled this course before and cancelled. The three month minimum period
applies to all enrollments without exception.)
Expiration date of the lessons:
Within 1 month from the beginning of the month to the end of the month
*If the number of lessons per month is less than total package lessons as a Japanese national holiday, you will receive 2 online points for each lesson that would have been scheduled. The points will expire in
case you cancel this course.
Cancellation:
Please notify us by email by the 20th of the previous month if you would like to stop taking lessons. If you notify us of your intended cancellation after the 20th of the previous month, you will need to pay for the following month.
Example: – If you would like to cancel your lessons and not be charged for November – the latest you must notify us is October 20th – otherwise you will be charged for the month of November – and you will be able to use your November lessons in accordance with the expiration policy below.
Lessons
Reservations:
The lesson schedule is a fixed schedule that does not change month to month. If you would like to change your schedule, please let us know 2 weeks before the date you would like to join the new class.
Class availability:
If student numbers for class reservations remain at one student or less for a period of one month or
longer, the class may be closed.
Class recordings:
All the classes are recorded and the participants of the class can watch them for 14 days from the actual class.
Please understand that if there are no students and class isn’t held, there will not be a recording.
Recordings will automatically be deleted after two weeks from the day of that class. Please do not share the recordings with students who are not enrolled in the course.
Others

We require all of our students to affirm the following pledge and to agree to the following code of conduct in order to promote a friendly and hospitable learning environment.
As a student of Coto Japanese Academy, I hereby agree to refrain from any behaviors that could be perceived as antisocial and disruptive to other students.
I understand that Coto Japanese Academy employs a zero-tolerance policy towards anti- social behaviors
including but not limited to
- disrupting class
- creating a distraction
- conducting conversation in an inappropriate manner
- Interacting inappropriately during social events in conversation with other event participants
- Regarding sales, promotions, and other solicitation activity such as religious and/or political evangelism directed towards students, teachers and staff.
I understand that failure to adhere to this code of conduct at Coto Japanese Academy during regular
business hours and during Coto Japanese Academy events as a participant could result in my expulsion from Coto Japanese Academy and forfeit any right to a refund of any kind.
These terms and conditions are subject to change at any time up to the exclusive discretion of Coto Japanese Academy.
